Open in App
Solution

  • Sulphur (S) and Phosphorus (P), when mixed with some other elements, form a mixture called gunpowder.
  • The combination of elements helps generate more heat as they react with each other resulting in smoke and sound.
  • Adding a few other elements get those colours in the crackers when they burn.

Hence, sulphur and phosphorus are the two non-metals used in fireworks.
