Solution

Step1: Asteroid

The solar system consists of eight planets, satellites, comets, and dwarf planets. Asteroids and Meteors are also members of our solar system other than planets.

  1. It is a large rocky body in space, in orbit around the Sun.
  2. Asteroids are found mainly in their belt, between Mars and Jupiter.
  3. Asteroids are sometimes referred to as minor planets, but in general, they are rocky bodies that do not have an atmosphere.
  4. The largest asteroid is Ceres at about 952km592miles in diameter

Step2: Meteors

  1. Sometimes one asteroid can smash into another. This can cause small pieces of rocks from the asteroid to break off. Those pieces are called meteoroids.
  2. If a meteoroid comes close to Earth's atmosphere and enters its atmosphere, it vaporizes and then turns into a meteor
  3. Meteors are also known as shooting stars, are actually pieces of dust and debris from the space that burn up in Earth’s atmosphere, where they create bright streaks across the night sky.

Thus, Asteroids and Meteors are the two objects other than planets that are members of the solar system.
