  1. Proteinaceous hormones are hormones whose molecules are either peptides or proteins.
  2. The former has longer amino acid chains than the latter.
  3. These hormones influence the endocrine system of all animals, including humans.

Two proteinaceous hormones:

Luteinizing hormone (LH):

  1. It is a substance produced by the body that regulates reproductive activities.
  2. Luteinizing hormone stimulates ovulation and contributes in the production of pregnancy hormones.

Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH):

It is a gonadotropin, polypeptide hormone which is generated and secreted by Gonadotropic cells present in the anterior pituitary gland.
