In India Natural Gas is located offshore in Mumbai. Natural gas is also located in Tripura, Krishna Godavari Delta and Jaisalmer.

• Other major producers of natural gas are Russia, Norway, Netherland, United Kingdom (U.K).
• Sufficient natural gas reserves are available in very few countries.
• Automobile fuels which are eco-friendly are Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as it causes less pollution than diesel and petroleum.
• Natural gas and petroleum are located far below earth’s surface. To extract them, deep wells are drilled.
• Examples of non-metallic minerals are petroleum and coal, which are also known as mineral fuels.
• The main sources of conventional energy are fossil fuels such as natural gas, petroleum and coal.
• There are very limited reserves of these mineral fuels.
• The rate of their formation is very very small when compared to the rate at which they are consumed by the global population. Hence they will be exhausted very quickly.
• Fossil fuels are formed spread over millions of years, when the remains of animals and plants are converted into fossil fuels, which are buried deep inside the earth, due to pressure and heat.
