Surgical methods of contraception in males and females is a non-reversible or a permanent method of contraception that includes surgical operations on vas deferens and fallopian tubes in males and females respectively.

The two surgical methods are used to prevent pregnancy are as follows:
Tubectomy:
1. It is a process of preventing unwanted pregnancy in females.
2. In this, first the abdomen has to be opened and the fallopian tubes are exposed.
3. They are then tied with nylon thread to close the passage of the egg.
Vasectomy:
1. It is a process of preventing unwanted pregnancy in males.
2. A small piece of vas deferens is cut and removed. The two ends are then tied.
3. This surgery is quicker, better, and safer.
