Plastids are double membrane-bound organelles found in plants. There are mainly 4 types of plastids seen in plants. These are
1. Chloroplasts- It helps to trap the light during photosynthesis.
2. Chromoplasts- It contains carotenoid pigments impart the red, orange, or yellow colours to various fruit, roots, and petals.
3. Leucoplasts- It is used for storage of starch or oil.
