Nandini house is 910 km from her school. She walked some distance and then took a bus for 12 km to reach the school. How far did she walk?
As per the question
Total distance between school and Nandini's house =910 km
Distance covered by bus =12 km
Total distance between the school and Nandini's house = Distance covered by walking + Distance covered by bus
⇒ Distance covered by walking =Total distance between the school and Nandini's house −Distance covered by bus
On substituting the values we get:
Distance covered by walking = 910−12
=(9×1)−(1×510) [ ∵ L.C.M. of 10 and 2 is 10 ]
=9−510
=410
=25
Therefore, she walked 25 km.
