  1. It is actually a white crystalline compound which is made up of coal tar.
  2. It is also known as mothballs which are tightly kept in a closed container.
  3. Here, in the container the sublimation process will take place.
  4. This sublimation process is generally the conversion of solid state of matter into the gaseous state without reaching the liquid state in the between.

Therefore, these naphthalene balls disappear into vapors (sublimation process) with time without leaving any solid back.
