Solution

Dear student,

Here is the answer:

Napoleon Bonaparte was a French military leader. He conquered many parts of Europe in the early 19th century. He rose through the ranks of the military to become the military dictator of France.

Rise of Napoleon:
  • After the fall of the Jacobin government the wealthier middle class seized power.
  • The new constitution denied the right to vote to non-propertied sections of society.
  • It appointed for two elected legislative councils.
  • They then appointed a Directory that was made of five members.
  • However the Directors often fought with the legislative council.
  • This led to the rise of Napoleon Bonaparte.
