Nascent hydrogen is ............. reactive than ordinary hydrogen.

Solution

Nascent Hydrogen

  • When a hydrogen molecule (H2) is dissociated into its atomic hydrogen, then these newly formed hydrogens were called nascent hydrogens.
  • These hydrogen atoms were more reactive than normal hydrogen due to the excess energy.
  • Hence, nascent hydrogen can reduce elements and compounds that do not readily react with normal hydrogen.
  • Nascent hydrogen is hydrogen in the form of individual atoms, not paired into molecules as it is in the gaseous state.
  • It is also called newly born hydrogen.
  • It is more reactive than ordinary hydrogen.

Nascent hydrogen is more reactive than ordinary hydrogen.
