Open in App
Solution

Vegetation found in the coastal plain is limited when compared to other plains. however, they are relatively fertile due to the river drainage systems. Rice, paddy are pre dominant. Other than these two crops, there is also production of betel nut, bananas and paan. Drier or interior regions of the coastal plain grow crops that consume less water such as ground nut, tobacco, chilly, pulses, ragi and jowar. Also, along the eastern ghats coconut plantation is found along rice and paddy fields. Cashew, mango, arecanut and chikko are grown in coarse soil.
