Solution

Instructions:
  • Start with an introduction and explain what is a volcano.
  • Explain the formation of volcanoes
  • State three reasons how these are useful to a man.
Solution:
Volcanoes are the fissures on the crust from where the hot molten rock comes out.
They are formed by such molten rock material coming out through the fissures along the plate margins.
Although volcanoes can cause great harm to lives and properties, it can also be useful to man in the following ways:
  1. The soil formed by the weathering of lava rocks is fertile. Example: Black soil of Deccan Plateau which is useful for cotton cultivation.
  2. Volcanic ash can also be used as a good manure.
  3. We can find geysers in volcanic regions. Such regions are being developed as tourist centers. Example: the Old Faithful Geyser, Yellow Stone National Park.
