Solution

Total length of cloth bought by Neelam’s father =312m
Length of cloth that is used for making a dress = 217m
Length of cloth that is used for making scarf = 25m
Total length of cloth used to make dress and a scarf =(217+25m)=(157+25m)

The L.C.M of 7,5 = 35
15×57×5=75352×75×7=14357535+1435=75+1435=8935
Length of cloth =312=8935=728935
L.C.M of 2 and 35 = 70
72=7×352×35=245708935=89×235×2=17870
Therefore, length of cloth that is left = 2457017870=6770
6770 m of cloth is left after making a dress and a scarf.
