Neha went to a 'sale' to purchase some pants and skirts. When her friend asked her how many of each she had bought, she answered. "The number of skirts are two less than twice the number of pants purchased. If the number of skirts is four less than four times the number of pants purchases."
Help her friend to find how many pants Neha bought.

Let number of pants purchased be x and skirts purchased be y
From given answers we can write equation as
y=2x-2 & y=4x-4
On solving we get, x=1
Therefore number of pants purchased =1
