Toxoplasmosis is a disease caused by protozoan Toxoplasma gondii which causes chronic infection in tissues primarily the brain, skeletal muscles.
The infection of this protozoan can be contained in a healthy individual but not totally eradicated. T cells of the cell-mediated immunity are the primary lymphocytes which fight off the infection of toxoplasmosis. In individuals suffering from AIDS, the HIV virus which primarily targets the T helper cells of the immune system such patients are more prone to infection of toxoplasmosis as the lymphocyte resisting the T. gondii itself is killed by HIV virus.
Meningitis the infection in the meninges covering the brain which is caused by a fungal infection which takes place by consumption of uncooked meat or lamb with fungal cyst present in the tissue.
This infection is not seen in healthy individuals with the strong immune system, whereas those suffering from AIDS have weakened immune system and resist the infection.
Both the disease cause infection in the central nervous system and therefore is neurological disease and also are seen in individuals suffering from AIDS as they are the one with the weakened immune system and can't resist the infection
