The correct option is C Cell bodies and dendrites, axons
The neuron contains cyton or the cell body and two cytoplasmic processes which are the dendrites (short fibres projecting from the cyton) and the axon (the long fibre which ends in bulb-like structures called the synaptic knobs). The synaptic knobs present in the axon terminals contain synaptic vesicles which carry neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters bind to their receptors which are present on the dendrites of the next neuron. The binding of the neurotransmitters with their receptors generate a new action potential (nerve impulse) in that neuron. Hence, the nerve impulses or the signals are received by the neurons through their cell bodies and dendrites and these impulses are transmitted away from the cytons to the other neurons with the help of axons.
