Question

Neutralization always produces a solution of pH=7. If true write 1, else write 0.

Solution

At 25oC, Kw=[H+][OH]=107×107=1014
So pH+pOH=14 at this temperature and neutral solution will have pH = 7.

But as we increase temperature, more no of water molecule will dissociate and number of ions will increase. So as we increase the temperature Kw increases and pH+pOH decreases.

So neutral solution will have pH less than 7.
