Neutrons and ...

Question

Neutrons and protons co-exist in the nucleus. The proton is positivelycharged while neutron has no charge. So why doesnt the protons transfer the charge to neutrons?

Protons are static and they are held tightly with the electrons by some force of attraction. So they wont do charge transfer.
