Next day in class, Ted got his Math exam corrected paper. For each correct answer, 5 marks were rewarded and for each wrong answer, 2 marks were cut. Out of the questions Ted attempted, 11 were correct. Which of the following expressions give the number of questions answered incorrectly by Ted if he scored 41 marks?
[41-(11×5)]/-2
Here,
Total marks obtained for correct answers =11×5
Total marks obtained = 41
Marks lost for incorrect answers = 41 – (11×5)
For each wrong answer, marks lost = 2
In other words, for each wrong answer, marks obtained = -2 [Negative marks]
So, number of questions answered incorrectly =41−(11×5)−2
