Solution

The correct option is A Photorespiration
Photorespiration is a wasteful process, which occurs in C3 plants in presence of light. In the photorespiratory pathway, there is neither synthesis of sugars, nor of ATP. Rather it results in the release of CO2 with the utilisation of ATP.
In the photorespiratory pathway there is no synthesis of ATP or NADPH. Therefore, photorespiration is a wasteful process. This process occurs in chloroplast, peroxisomes and mitochondria. In mitochondria two molecules of glycine combine together to form a molecule of serine, with the simultaneous release of carbon dioxide and ammonia.
