The net result of non-cyclic phosphorylation is the formation of NADPH, oxygen and ATP molecules. Oxygen is produced as a waste product of photosynthesis. In non-cyclic phosphorylation electrons are removed from water and passed through PS-II and PS-I before ending up in NADPH.
