(b) The solution of Potassium permanganate is used as antiseptic to treat wounds like infected eczema, blisters, athlete's foot and impetigo. To treat these kind of wounds the solution of potassium permanganate must be diluted. To achieve an appropriate dilution combine 1 part potassium permanganate with 10 parts hot water. Undiluted potassium permanganate has a striking purple color, but a diluted solution should be pink.
