Question

noncellulosic(polysaccharide+amino acid)

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student

This means that unlike plants which have their outer wall(cell wall) essentially made up of cellulose .In kingdom like monera their cell wall are made up of peptidoglycan layer i.e NAM (N-acetyl muramic acid) and NAG (N-acetylglucosamine) units which are polysaccharides which are interlinked by pentapeptide linkages(amino acids) therfore monerans are non cellulosic(polysaccharide +amino acid).

The bracket shows that the cell wall which is non cellulosic which consists of pollsaccharide and amino acids.

hope this helps you.
