Solution
First calculate the potential of hydrogen electrode.
E=Ecalomel−EHE
0.67=0.28−EHE
EHE=−0.39V
Now calculate the hydrogen ion concentration.
EHE=E0H−0.0592nlogPH2[H+]2
−0.39=0−0.05922log1[H+]2
[H+]=2.51×10−7M
Hence, the pH of the solution is pH=−log[H+]=−log2.5×10−7=6.6≈7
