North pole of the freely suspended magnet is attracted toward the geographical south pole.
When a magnet is freely suspened the north pole of the magnet points towards the geographic north pole of the earth. Does it means that the magnet gets attracted?
If the earth acts as a magnet, the magnetic attraction should increase as we go deeper into the earth. But quite the opposite happens. Why?And if the north pole and the south pole point toward the geographic north and south,a needle freely hanged on the north pole should point downward, right?
