The number of geometrical isomers possible in 1,3,5-Hexatriene is 2 (cis and trans at middle double bond) and the number of possible products (without stereochemistry) when 1,3,5-Hexatriene reacts with 1 equivalent of HCl is 3. Then the value of x+y is 2+3=5.
