There are four juvenile stages in the development of Ascaris. Under suitable conditions of temperature, moisture, and oxygen, zygote undergoes cleavage and develop into the first stage juvenile called rhabditiform larva inside the eggshell. It moults within the eggshell and becomes the second stage rhabditiform larva which is an infective stage. After staying in the lung for few days, the second stage larva moults to become the third stage larva. Another moult occurs 4 days which results in the fourth stage larva
