Primary carbon atom is attached to only one other carbon atom.
Secondary carbon atom is attached to two other carbon atoms.
Tertiary carbon atoms is attached to three other carbon atoms
Quaternary carbon atom is attached to four other carbon atoms.
In benzene all the six carbon atoms are attached to two other carbon atoms. So benzene contains 6 secondary carbon atoms.
In o-xylene four carbons are attached to two carbons while two carbons are attached to three other carbon atoms. So, o-xylene contains 4 secondary carbon atoms.
In toluene 5 carbons are attched to 2 carbon atoms while only one is attached to 3 carbon atoms. So, toluene has 5 secondary carbons atoms.
Number of secondary carbon atoms in benzene, o-xylene and toluene are 6,4 and 5 respectively.
