Let the total marks be x

$\frac{54x}{100}+24=456$

$\frac{54x}{100}=456-24=432$

$x=\frac{432\times 100}{56}=800$

Passing marks$=\frac{35}{100}\times x=\frac{35}{100}\times 800=280$

Nutan got $(456-280)=176$ more marks than passing marks.
