Question

Observations of a data are 16, 72, 0, 55, 10, 41 Deeksha calculated the mode and median without taking the zero into consideration did Deeksha do the right thing?

Solution

No, Deeksha didn't do the right thing.

To, calculate median, we need the middle number, after arranging numbers in increasing or decreasing order. Here, zero is also included, while arranging numbers.

Mode is that number which repeats most times. If zero repeats many times, then mode will be zero. Here, we don't have a mode, as all elements repeat once only.

Mean is defined as sum of observations by number of observations. Here also, zero is needed.
Zero is added in number of observations for finding mean.
