Solution

a) Figure A shows geotropism and figure B shows phototropism. Geotropism means growth in response to gravity and phototropism means growth in response to light.
b) Movement of mimosa is called nastic movement that is in response to touch. Nastic movements are usually caused by changes in turgor pressure of leaves. It is independent of growth whereas movement of geotropism and phototropism is called as movement dependent on growth as the movement is related to the growth.
