Solution
The food chain is the process of 'who eats whom', where the organisms are divided into three categories according to the types of food they eat like:
Autotrophs are the self-producers and produce their own food, they are the grasses and small plants.
Herbivores are the plant-eating organisms that are dependent upon the plants for their food, e.g.; insects, bugs etc.
Carnivores are the flesh eaters and are dependent on the other animal for food, e.g.; Tiger, owls, hawk etc.
In the given food chain, the banana plant is the producer which is eaten by an insect or bug, thus insect is then eaten by a kite which is a carnivore and then the kite is eaten by owl that is a top carnivore. The food chain always starts from the autotrophs and ends up at the top carnivores.
So, the correct order is 'Banana plant → Bug / insect → Kite → Owls'.
