Solution
This diagram shows a double circulation system.
In our body, the blood flows twice through the heart.
During the first phase of circulation, the deoxygenated blood or carbon dioxide-rich blood from the heart is carried to the lungs where it removes carbon dioxide and receives oxygen. The oxygenated blood from the lungs is then carried back to the heart.
In the second phase of circulation, the oxygenated blood from the heart is carried to all parts and the deoxygenated blood from the body parts is carried back to the heart.
Since the blood flows from the heart twice and two separate circulations are involved it is known as a double circulation system.
