acidification: - It refers to increase in level of CO2 and decrease in PH level of the oceans. The main reason is uptake of anthropogenic CO2. About 30-40% CO2 is released by human activities. It goes into rivers, lakes and oceans.

The current oceanic acidification is higher than that of last 65 million years.

Possible impact: - marine organism having calcium shells show increased dissolution of shell- causing danger to corals.
