Solution

The correct option is D 45
Let the four numbers be x1,x2,x3,x4

Given that first number is twice the second number.

Therefore, x1=2x2 ------(1)

Given that second number is one-third of the third.

Therefore, x2=13x3 -------(2)

Given that third number is 5 times the fourth.

Therefore, x3=5x4 ------(3)

Given that average of the four numbers is 24.75

Therefore, 24.75=x1+x2+x3+x44

24.75×4=x1+x2+x3+x4

x1+x2+x3+x4=99

2x2+x2+x3+x4=99 (from (1))

3x2+x3+x4=99

3(13x3)+x3+x4=99 (from (2))

2x3+x4=99

2(5x4)+x4=99

11x4=99

x4=9

x3=5x4=5(9)=45

x2=13x3=13(45)=15

x1=2x2=2(15)=30

Therefore, the largest number is x3=45
