Solution

The correct option is D (i)- onion cell, (ii)- parenchyma, (iii)- cheek cell, (iv)- collenchyma
An onion is a multicellular plant organism. As in all plant cells, the cell of an onion peel consists of a cell wall, cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus and a large vacuole. The nucleus is present at the periphery of the cytoplasm. So, figure (i) is an onion cell.
In transverse section, parenchyma cell appears circular, oval, rectangular or polygonal in shape. So, figure (ii) is parenchyma.
Human cheek cells have a flat, irregular shape and a very thin membrane. Cheek cells are a popular item of study in the classroom. These easily obtained specimens are viewed under the microscope and used as a source for DNA fingerprinting studies. So, figure (iii) is of cheek cells.
In transverse section, collenchyma cell appears circular, oval or polygonal with a thick cell wall. So, figure (iv) is collenchyma cell.
Therefore, the correct answer is option D.
