Let the three numbers be x1,x2,x3

Given that second is twice the first.

x2=2x1

x1=12x2 --------(1)

Given that second is thrice the third.

x2=3x3

x3=13x2 --------(2)

Given that average of three numbers is 44

44=x1+x2+x33

x1+x2+x3=44×3=132 -------(3)

substituting (1) and (2) in (3) we get

12x2+x2+13x2=132

x26(3+6+2)=132

11x2=132×6

x2=132×611

x2=72

x1=12x2=722=36

x3=13x2=723=24

Therefore the largest number is x2=72
