Solution

Many monocot plants that survive in dry climate or drought conditions have large, transparent bubble like cells flanking their mid-vein. During water deficit conditions these cells become flaccid and make the leaf margin roll towards the vein, thus, reducing transpiration. With the return of normal water conditions the cells become turgid, opening the leaf blade to facilitate transpiration.
