The correct option is B 0.63
Given:
Distance on map =4 inches
Scale factor =110,000

We know that,
Scale factor
= Dimension of scale model Dimension of actual object

110,000=4 Actual distance

Inverting the fractions,
10,0001= Actual distance4

Multiplying both sides by 4,
10,0001×4= Actual distance4×4
40,000=Actual distance

Thus, actual distance between the two towns = 40,000 inches

But, we need the distance in miles.

1 mile=5,280 feet
1 foot=12 inches

1 mile=5,280×12 inches
=63,360 inches

Actual distance between the two towns = 40,000 inches
= 40,00063,360 mile
0.63 mile

Hence, option (b.) is correct.
