Solution

The correct option is D 6
Which number evenly divides 186? Try each number.

4) the "divisible by 2" rule on 186.
The ones digit is 6. So, the number is divisible by 2. So, we can use 2 big camping tents with 93 students each.

5) Now check if 186 is divisible by 3.
1 + 8 + 6 = 15
15 is divisible by 3. So, the number is divisible by 3. So, we can use 3 big camping tents with 62 students each.

If the number is divisible by both 2 and 3, the rule says that number is divisible by 6. So, we can use 6 big camping tents with 31 students each.

With having possibility of NOT more than 10 tents, at maximum, we can use 6 tents to equally distribute all 186 students.
