Hydrogen iodide (HI) formed during reaction is oxidized to I2 which is violet in colour. This will not happened during the formation of halogen acid, HCl.

NaCl+H2SO4Na2SO4+2HCl

NaI+H2SO4Na2SO4+2HI2H2O+SO2+I2.

Hence option C is correct.
