A lighter gas like helium must have been filled in the first set of balloons whose density is much less than that of air. The weight of air displaced by the inflated balloon, that is the buoyant force, becomes more than the weight of the gas filled balloons and thus the first set of balloons rose up to the ceiling of the house while the other set of the balloon do not.

The old lady was glad to be back at the block of flats where she lived. Her shopping had tired her and her basket had grown heavier with every step on the way home.
