Total cost incurred by Jack to give one comic DVD to each of 27 teachers =$(12×27)

To get the value of 12×27, we follow the below steps:

First we write the bigger number at the top and smaller number just below of it with a proper alignment of one's place.


We first multiply 2 with 7, which is 14, where 1 is carrying over to the next multiplication, 2×2. So, the next number, we get (2×2)+1=4+1=5.


For the next multiplication step, we leave one's place (denoted by faded 0), and start from ten's place.
We first multiply 1 with 7, which is 7, and the next number would be 1×2=2.
