$\frac{p (4 p^{2} - 16)}{4 p (p - 2)} = \frac{p [(2 p)^{2} - 4^{2}]}{4 p (p - 2)} = \frac{(2 p - 4) (2 p + 4)}{4 (p - 2)} [∵ a^{2} - b^{2} = (a + b) (a - b)] = \frac{2 (p - 2) .2 (p + 2)}{4 (p - 2)} = \frac{4 (p - 2) (p + 2)}{4 (p - 2)} = p + 2$
