Solution

The correct option is A chlorine
In the arrangement of cell, anode is connected to positive terminal and cathode is connected to negative terminal. When sodium chloride is used it gets dissociated into sodium ion and chloride ion which are positive and negative respectively. As negative attracts to positive, chloride ion goes to anode terminal side and there it donates electrons and becomes chlorine gas. Hence, in electrolysis of molten sodium chloride, chlorine is formed at anode.
