The correct option is A 70 candies
On getting a sum right, prof Ed. gives 5 candies to a student, while for an incorrect answer, 2 candies are given.
Out of 20 students, 10 gave the correct answer.
Number of students with incorrect answer are 2010=10 students.
Now, Total number of candies handed out =10×5+10×5
Using the distributive theorem of multiplication:
10×5+10×2=10×(5+2)=10×7=70
So, the prof had to give out 70 candies in total.
