Given: weight of the metallic oxide =0.199 g
16 g of oxygen is present in 18 g of H2O
So, O present in 0.045 g H2O=1618×0.045=0.04 g
Weight of the metal =0.1990.04=0.159 g

weight of the metal oxideweight of the metal=equivalent weight of the metal oxideequivalent weight of the metal

0.1990.159=M+8M
On solving, M=31.8 g
