Solution

Let the cost price of 1 kg sugar = C.P = Rs x
Selling price of 1 kg sugar = S.P = Rs 16.50
Profit % = 10%
Profit = S.P - C.P
= Rs (16.50 – x)
Profit % = ProfitC.P×100
10=16.50-xx×10010x=16.50-x×10010x=1650-100x10x+100x=1650110x=1650x=1650110x=15
∴ Cost price of 1 kg sugar is Rs 15.
