The reaction between acidified potassium dichromate, H2O2 and ether can be given as:

K2Cr2O7+H2SO4+4H2O2ether−−K2SO4+2CrO5+5H2O
(Blue)

Here, K2Cr2O7 is oxidized to CrO5 which is blue in colour. This CrO5 gives blue colour to the ethereal layer.
