On the upper side of a leaf cuticle is present still how does guttation take place ?

Solution
Guttation occurs through specialised structures known as hydathodes or water stomata or water pores. However, the term water stomata is inappropriate, as hydathodes have no osmotically active guard cells but consist of a large opening, below which there is a rather large air chamber, bordered by a mass of thin-walled, loosely arranged parenchymatous cells (epithem). The xylem of a small vein terminates below each air chamber. Hence, guttation takes place on the edges of the leaf, and not directly on the upper side.
